The Countdown

We are now one month away from the official start of our 2018-2019 basketball season. Tryouts are on Friday, November 9th and you have very little time left to get yourself into basketball condition. Here are a few questions to ask yourself:

Can I run 4 miles in 48 minutes?

Can I shoot 80% or better from the free-throw line?

Am I confident with my ball handling skills?

Do I posses a "can-do" attitude?

Am I developing my leadership skills in the classroom and on the court?

Have I set any personal goals for this season?

Am I strong, mentally, emotionally, and physically?

If you can honestly answer yes to each of these questions, you're going to be ready! Congratulations to you. If you can't answer these in the affirmative, you have one month to get yourself ready.

The great thing about athletics (and life) is that you will get whatever you put into it. If you have invested the time, energy and effort to be better, you will be - if you haven't... you get the picture.

The great thing about team sports, is we have other's to encourage us and work with us to be the best we can be. Are you helping one another be great?

I can speak only about what I have seen, and those who have been attending the open gyms this summer and off-season are improving. Keep up the good work and encourage one another to work on getting laser focused.

Remember - you will only get back what you invest. Invest wisely and remember you only get so much time to see that return on your investment.
